Valerie was born in Tampa, Florida in a military family. She traveled and was schooled in South Dakota, Alaska, and Illinois. Valerie attended Illinois colleges and earned a degree in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University. She lives in Urbana with her husband, Tom, and enjoys dancing, gardening, church choir, and spending time with her 18 grandchildren!
